Fixation of unstable pelvic fractures with minimally invasive adjustable plate

چکیده
Objective: Unstable pelvic fractures are relatively rare injuries usually requiring reduction and internal fixation. Selecting appropriate methods for unstable pelvic fractures remains a challenging problem for orthopaedic surgeons. The aim of this study was to present the techniques and outcomes of MIAP for unstable pelvic fractures. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of patients with unstable pelvic ring fractures treated with minimally invasive adjustable plate at a level I trauma centre. Outcome evaluation was assessed using Majeed score standard, duration of surgery, blood loss, radiation exposure and size of incision. Results: Twenty-one patients were available for follow-up after at least 12 months. The main findings were as follows: the average duration of surgery was 67.5 min, the intraoperative blood loss was 204 ml on average, the average radiation exposure was 8 s, and the size of incision was 8.8 cm on average. The mean Majeed functional evaluation score was 85.3 points. Conclusion: Minimally invasive adjustable plate may be a good alternative for treating unstable pelvic fractures. It has the advantages of technically safe, minimally invasive, less radiation exposure and time saving.

Clinical Results of Percutaneous Fixation of Pelvic and Acetabular Fractures: A Minimally Invasive Internal Fixation Technique
Background: The pelvic ring fractures (PRF) and acetabular fractures (AF) are among the major orthopedic injuriesassociated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Open surgical stabilization is the standard treatment for themajority of these complications. Percutaneous minimally invasive surgical stabilization of the fractures has become anaccepted treatment method for th...

Background: Comminuted fractures happen frequently due to traumas. Fixation without opening the fracture site, known as minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO), has recently become prevalent. This study has beendesigned to assess the outcomes of this treatment for tibial and femoral comminuted fractures. Methods: A total of 60 patients with comminuted femoral or tibial fractures were opera...
متن کاملTreatment of pelvic fractures through a less invasive ilioinguinal approach combined with a minimally invasive posterior approach
BACKGROUND Unstable pelvic fractures usually result from high-energy trauma. There are several treatment modalities available. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical application of a new less invasive ilioinguinal approach combined with a minimally invasive posterior approach technique in patients with unstable pelvic fractures. We also address the feasibility, validity, and lim...
متن کاملThe functional outcome of surgically treated unstable pelvic ring fractures by open reduction, internal fixation
Abstract Background: Unstable Pelvic fracture, a result of high energy antero-posterior compression injury, has been managed based on internal fixation and open reduction. The mode of fixation in Unstable Pelvic fracture has, however, been a subject of controversy and some authors have proposed a need to address the issue of partial breach of the pelvic ring elements in these injuries. This st...

BACKGROUND Unstable pelvic fractures are complex and serious injuries. Selection of a fixation method for these fractures remains a challenging problem for orthopedic surgeons. This study aimed to compare the stability of Tile C pelvic fractures fixed with two iliosacral (IS) screws and minimally invasive adjustable plate (MIAP) combined with one IS screw. METHODS This study was a biomechanic...
